hmm what do combat boots and dancing have in common. well my next song on my list.
How are you doing with the guessing so far???
today's song is one that makes you want to dance.
now this is a really old song
the song was released in 1966 just a year after I was born but somewhere along the way it really stuck in my head.
the singer is the daughter of someone famous
the boots I used are combat boots. A pair of my husbands boots that he kept after he retired last year from the air national guard. these boots have seen a lot of walking.
ok now that surely gave you the answer.... well unless you are way younger then me maybe.
the song is by Nancy Sinatra called these boots were made for walking. check out the video and the boots she has on aren't they starting to come back in style?? and you thought the girls wore short skirts now!!! I wonder if this was a controversial video when it came out???
Sometimes a mistake can turn out ok. the picture like I mentioned was a pair of my husbands old boots but I beefed it up heavily with textures. I wanted to portray old and tired boots so went heavy with a shadowhouse texture and then thought it reminded me of all the soldiers away from their families and how they wrote home so added a bliss and folly script texture. while unmasking a section of the boot I slipped and it caused a whitish are and I really liked that effect so continued to highlight around the boot to give it a little more of a feel.
today's song is one that you listen to when you are angry. well I don't get angry often but when I am having a bad day at work I flip on this YouTube and it always makes me smile. opps there is your first hint.
yeah smile is a big hint
but really it is what the smile does
the song is one you all know
my favorite version of the song and the one on the YouTube video is actually a commercial
a commercial for diapers of all things.
got it now?? I bet you do.
yeah the song is don't worry be happy and this version makes me smile I dare you not to smile as you watch the video.
the photo is of a clay sculpture we have in our living room. I loved the way the light was shining up on his face but to make it more interesting I added a texture by bliss and holly to it
today's song is one from my favorite album. Now I really don't have a favorite but at least at the time I was typing this I was playing this and so this gets to be my favorite. I had a hard time finding a photo to match but thought this one would work.
this is my mom ziplining in Belieze with us last year. Very proud of her she really didn't want to do this because she is afraid of heights but I pretty much told her she was doing it. By the time we finished she was ready to go again. I think it was the favorite thing she did on that cruise.
clues for this are :
a band from the 70's.
Very unique for the time.
The song has some french in it.
last clue what do you think is the number one thing you want to do when ziplining??????
Hold on Tight (of course haha) from ELO electric Light Orchestra.
today's song is one that is currently heard a lot on the radio. I really like the song but a picture to go with it was really hard to do. this one is a stretch of the imagination.
the picture was taken in Mazatlan of the divers that would dive into the ocean near for money. Scary
clues:
the water they dive into is deep enough to not kill them.
they are diving but the verb that is in the song is rolling.
well this should be a pretty easy one to guess. what is a song I can dance to? well at least I use to be able to.
This was a tough one to photograph so took a scan and made a collage of it. Another tough thing apparently money detection software is in place on at least adobe photoshop elements 9 so that you can't counterfeit it. I guess that is a good thing but it made it hard to capture.
some of you young people might not know this song.
my version is from the 80's but the original is from 1968 which i didn't know till I reasearched this song.
and it isn't eactly the title but as close as I could get to the title of the song
original is by Tommy James and the Shondells
my version of the song is by billy idol
Mony Mony well it sounds like money money at least right????
Today's challenge was a song I know all the words to. hahaha. I can't carry a tone let alone remember all the words to a song with the exception of one song
I can sing this song.
how doesn't know this song?
we only hear it every year.
we have heard it since age one right
Happy Birthday not the national anthem but then again you really don't want to hear me attempt that.
this really doesn't have the song happy birthday but it cracks me up all the same so putting it on here.
today's song challenge is a song that reminds you of a certain event. when I was going through the list I made my first choices with whatever popped into my head first. this was one that was easy. A couple weeks later I asked my husband the questions and three were the same which included day one (he knows how I act when that song comes on) and one is coming up later which is what describes me and this one.
The first time we started going out we were in the military and had a company picnic. this song came on and we danced to it and actually won a contest for it. we won an LP yep a vinyl album but it wasn't that long ago 1988. Of course hubby had enough drink in him that he actually danced and all had a good time. so I guess this could be called our song.
so for the clues for today:
I think this is tough from the picture so you really have to think hard.
the song is really old 50's. ok old in my respect because it was before my time but I grew up on this song.
