using texture on faces
something I have wondered if it would work and over at kim klassen's last week she talked about. I used her golden texture on our picture here and it worked wonders for the darkness. originally my husband took this of me and my son but it lacked brightness so I added the color and then used a coffee shop frame and background paper to do the rest. still not happy with the picture but I will take what I can get since I don't get to see my son much

this is what the orignal looked like

feel the music
I have always felt music should be felt not just heard. Music is so much more then the sound of a voice and instruments. A musician creates from the soul. a talent I think that you are either born with or not born with. I was not born with it but I can see the beauty in almost every kind of music there is. You can hear the words, and the sounds of the instruments but until you feel the music you don't really experience the music the way the artist envisioned their creation.
My son is a drummer and a pretty good one at that and I don't say that because I am his mom. he played in a band for a long time but currently just plays for fun because he is young and life is to busy with work and his business adventures. But he will always have music in his life. this is a picture of him a couple of years ago. sadly the only one I have of him playing outside of the house. And really not a good picture so altering it with layers, masks and words I feel like it brought it a new life.
this picture also leads me into a new month. April is going to be song month. Alissa at Have Stroller will travel has challenged a few of us to post to our blogs with a line up of some of favorite songs and such. the blog roll to the right of this post shows those playing. please check them out. if you would like to take part please let us know and we will add you to our blog roll.

laughter
I love this picture of my son from last summer. Every time I see it it makes me smile I miss seeing his laughter everyday but kids grow up and out and that is how life is suppose to be.

lion feet
I was impressed when I first saw it.
I have mixed feelings about tattoos. My son got his second tattoo (his first was a cleft note with a peace sign on the back of his ear) this is a couple hours after he got it. still red and swollen but gorgeous.
the artist took 2 1/2 hours and it cost I think 250 but its a beauty and its on his foot where he can cover it up. for this I am grateful. at 20 you really don't realize what this would look like on an arm or body part that is going to stretch later in life. He said it was very painful on the sides of the foot and not sure he would ever get the other side of the foot done, at least for now. lol hope to see him soon to get some shots of it not swollen and red
I have considered a tattoo myself but just haven't been able to commit to a design that I want on my body for the rest of my life. of course at 45 does that really matter???
for those that want to know this was done at evolution in Spokane by Caleb.

9 bee walking

one more page that I did because it is one of my favorites. As you can see I don't journal much at all but I did do a little on this one. one reason I don't is my printing is not pretty yeah I know I could type it up but really I just don't care for journaling much in my books. don't tell any creative memory people that shhhhh.
Anyhow this is one of my favorite pages because of the story behind it. here are a three 16 year old, bored and inventing things to do. So they capture a bee. Yes a big old bumblebee. the captured him/her (how do you tell?) by putting finding one on a flower and then putting a plastic bag over it. then took some string and made a little lasso. and fished it in the bag till it was around the bee. I know I know very inhumane but hey they weren't out starting fires or drinking and bee's only live so long so I went with it.
After lassoing it they took it out of the bag and starting walking it down the street. this just totally cracked me up. Leave it to a teenager to think up something like this.

35/365
what is this?? the elusive child. Rarely seen or heard from. He hides from the camera as often as possible. We were graced with his presence at dinner tonight and even some conversation. Is it real or is it the pod child. LOL he is a good kid just busy and shoot what 18 year old wants to be with his fuddy duddy parents anyhow.
Not the best picture but I only had my cell phone with me. I had take apart a soap dispenser from the bathroom and needed to send a little entertainment to a friend so there I am.
