Poetry starbook

As some of you know I have other hobbies.  One of them is rubber stamping.  this is what several of us in our group created.  it is called a star book.  the theme was poetry. I have several books I have made with groups over the years including 2 twelve days of Christmas books I bring out at Christmas, some friendship books, valentines, safari and an Oriental book. Anything can be put in them pictures, poetry artwork you name it and the contents do not need to be flat.   they are fun and a great way to show off some creativeness on your coffee table.  some instructions can be found on this website called making mini scrapbooks.

so here are the contents of the book sorry long post on this one.  not the best photos I so should have photographed them before I put them into the book.  live and learn.

weekend projects

one of the things I accomplished this weekend is scrapbook 12 two page layouts.  Digitally of course with studio J by CTMH.   here is one of my favorites

Can't wait till they come in the mail.  I have done several other creative things this weekend which unfortunately did not include any photography so hopefully I will get out and about this week for some fun new shots.

In the future these kind of posts will be found under the artful things tab a new feature on my blog

what happens when you get 11 people, lots of space and time together
You have a room full of creativity and get lots done.

pend oreille bible camp retreat house

this is where I stayed for the weekend. 3 nights and days full of scrapbooking and awesome food. there were 11 of us on this retreat. the above house is the dining hall and where we scrapped. will post some inside photos later. This is the Pend Oreille Bible camp and they offer rentals for retreats.

the bottom floor of this was my room. I did have a bunk mate but it was so cute and fun to stay in.

packing it in.

all my stuff for the weekend. and i was one of the LIGHT packers.
we got there around 700 pm Thursday night and stayed till Sunday night around 6:00.
I lost count of the pages I did after Friday night but it was well over a hundred. Most were fairly simple and some had my pages done (been going to some close to my heart scrapbook classes for a couple of years now) and just needed pictures.

9 bee walking

one more page that I did because it is one of my favorites. As you can see I don't journal much at all but I did do a little on this one. one reason I don't is my printing is not pretty yeah I know I could type it up but really I just don't care for journaling much in my books. don't tell any creative memory people that shhhhh.

Anyhow this is one of my favorite pages because of the story behind it. here are a three 16 year old, bored and inventing things to do. So they capture a bee. Yes a big old bumblebee. the captured him/her (how do you tell?) by putting finding one on a flower and then putting a plastic bag over it. then took some string and made a little lasso. and fished it in the bag till it was around the bee. I know I know very inhumane but hey they weren't out starting fires or drinking and bee's only live so long so I went with it.

After lassoing it they took it out of the bag and starting walking it down the street. this just totally cracked me up. Leave it to a teenager to think up something like this.

8 productive day

had about 8 hours to scrapbook today and as you recall yesterday I had my stack of pre-made layouts that I was going to add pictures too I finished about 30 of those still have probably 80 left. I thought I could get more done hahaha but then you know you have to stop and look at the picture too. I also made about 12 more layouts that because what I had didn't fit. those layouts were NOT as fancy as my pre-made layouts. but i am now at least 3/4Th's of the way through this particular year. yeah
this is one of the pre-made layouts that was my one of my favorites. It was from when we got our newest dog Duncan. the star of many of my posts. That was may of 2006 that we got him and at the time we still had our "old man" storm. Another westie that was 17 at the time. the picture on the left page with Duncan under storm's head is one of my favorites. We had to put storm down September 11Th of that year. He was a good dog and will forever be in our hearts.

12 x 12 pages are tough to photograph that is for sure. I know you can photograph them separately and then stitch them together in photoshop but I am too lazy or just don't want to take the time for that. I did take most of the pages pictures and will be loading into my card/craft blog in the next few days.

7 ready to scrapbook

normally about twice a year I go to a scrap booking retreat but this year my ctmh demo that normally holds this is having it in February when I will be gone. I was so bummed. I have all these pages that I have been taking classes from that need to have pictures put on them. I am only 11 years behind in my books too. ugh. that's what I get for waiting to start scrap booking when my child was around 15. And everyone knows I love taking pictures. lol

so anyhow since I can't go to the long weekend where I normally make around 50 brand new pages I decided that tomorrow is the day I will spend putting pictures on all the pages I have created before. hopefully I can complete my challenge.

I have all the pages ready to go and will grab the pictures in the morning and go to it.

I don't make resolutions but this year one of my goals is to finish uncompleted projects. This is a big start as has been cleaning and reorganizing my stamp room.

so be looking for the completed pile tomorrow.
