wheat is a big crop around here at the quilt show from yesterday's post I took a few shots of the wheat field

dusting

not your typical dusting is it?  nope this is a crop duster spraying a wheat field in Washington.  we were driving home from our balloon trip when we spotted him.  not a bad shot from a moving car.

growing up in eastern washington you see this a lot.  we have many rolling hills of wheat fields.

i love to watch the fields flow softly in the wind it really is a cool sight to see.

wheels in the wheatfield

This is located at the artisans at dahman barn in uniontown, washington.   we have passed it a few times but never stopped.  this summer we decided we would and oh wow so glad we did.  it sits on the edge of a farm in a super small town (like 30+ people I think) there are at least 100 different artists that share their work inside the barn and about 20 that have studios where you can watch them work as well.  i came away with my christmas ornament for this year, a mouse of course.

this is the outside of the barn where there is a fence made of hundreds of wheels welded together.  i loved how this looked out into the wheat fields and how the clouds were formed that day.  sometimes a picture just makes itself.

i love this shot   I don't say that much about my own work only because I super critical of my work always thinking I could have done this or that better I guess that is good because i am learning.  I was looking at my tag cloud (scary) and started cleaning it up and noticed some very old posts and thought good grief that is horrible I should delete it.  but it is a reminder of my improvement so they stay.

the annual buggy barn quilt show held in the middle of some wheat fields where the buggy barn is located near Reardan, Washington.

take a dusty road to get to the destination and you will find lots of beautiful quilts.  the above quilt was one of the patterns we bought.  my husband was with me and really loved it.  His favorite holiday is Halloween.  Of course I have YET to make a quilt but soon. 

was fun.  Although I have to admit after going to the sisters oregon quilt show in July well I was spoiled by that show.  but we had a great time

this would have been a great shot if people weren't around but I guess that would never happen. lol

golden grass

wheat the golden grass. well not quite golden yet but getting there.

the fields in eastern Washington produce great colorful seas of grass. If you ever get a chance get out of the car and stand close to a wheat field.

first : listen for the slight sound as the wind moves the wheat. the rustle is a beautiful sound. second: get down close and look at the unusual looking plant amazing this could feed so many. it is not somethign you would think you could ever eat.

lastly: stand up and watch the winds gently push the blades and it looks like a sea of waving back at you.

this is america!!!!

who said farm land isn't beautiful?
