chilly afternoon

last weekend was went for a walk out near the palouse highway.  the light amount of snow that had fallen and the fields and farmlands were very pretty.

personally I couldn't imagine living out here especially in the winter but it has some great charm.

the birds were flocking to this tree where the apples had frozen but were still a good food source.  Saw several pheasant and hawks but didn't get any pictures of them.  one because I just had my point and shoot and two it was never ready in time.

we did run into several dear though.  I never tire of of them.  though I suppose if they were eating my gardens and trees maybe I wouldn't feel the same.

yellow

milton-freewater

on a trip to the walla walla balloon festival to see the hot air balloons we came across this field of yellow in milton-freewater  not sure what it is eactly might be mustard might be something else.  anyway it looked really cool before the rain set in.

we never did see any balloons to much weather issues that weekend.  still had fun though   always make the best of what you are given is what I say.

evaporation

I love how the top photo turned out. the color the feel the composition. don't care if anyone else likes it or not I like it.

I do hate one thing and that is the huge cloud of mist in the left corner. tried to crop it out but then the mountain on the right disappears and it loses its feel. Its just a little to blown out looking for me but other then that I like the shot. what do you all think of taking it out of the shot all together and just leaving the fence??? didn't try that but putting this picture up on the blog now I am thinking maybe I should have tried it.

On our drive out to the swans it was around 10:00 in the morning. the sun was warming up the wet marshy fields and it created this fog just about everywhere you looked.

It was a magical feeling

I did the above shot in sepia and it was one of my husband's favorite shots. the mists is perfect for making a picture look old.

21 lone house

this was not a particularly good picture. Taken through the car window and not exposed right. We were actually trying to figure out what was in the field. It was a goat. So I played with it in photoshop elements. thought I would make it look a little vintage odd. Elements doesn't seem to have all the bells and whistles that photoshop has for making frames and stuff.
