blue sky

Back in December I was downtown for the jingle bell run and snapped this shot of our beautiful river.  It was a little cold out but no snow and ice.  mostly we get snow and ice in January (ugh) so it was nice to be outdoors. Decided on this picture for today's post because I was missing the sunshine.

oh blue sky how I miss you.

Spokane River

Taken on Friday the Spokane river has reached flood stage.  I used a new app for my phone for this shot called autostitch.  I took a series of 7 shots and not perfect by any means just hand held and hoped they were ok.  well the stitching in this app is pretty amazing   I then used snapseed to add a little border and a glamor filter to the photo.

yes I know I am now addicted to taking pictures with the phone but during the week it is usally what I have with me as my big camera I can't take to my place of work for several reasons.

I am not sure how well this will print out but will be interested to see if it turns out.

Earth day Week one

Spokane river run earth day April 22 2012

Today is earth day and the day I did a 10k trail run. First time doing this and after coming off a 6 mile train yesterday I took it easy (coaches orders) and didn't want to injure myself. I came in around 15:30 a mile slow I am slow and probably could have done much better but deliberately held back. Great race beatiful sunny day. Up hills through the forest and along the river.

Will for sure hit this one again. Funds benefited a local school too.

Week one of a 52 week photo prompt. See side bar sorry cant link doing this from the iPad and having issues with that. This weeks prompt is to start something. Well I started this race and finished it any race is a good one that you finish. http://www.52photosproject.com/

heading out on the highway

ok so I can't sing, never been accused of coming close but I hear this tune in my head and I am not a big judus priest fan either in fact after I pulled up the video I was like ewww not adding that to my blog.  anyhow.

we had a fun drive from lewiston Idaho to missoula Washington recently  216 miles of twisty turny road that apparently is highly rated for motorcyclists. we drove it in a car and just imagined we were on a motorcycle with a sidecar of course.  at least according to this website: http://www.motorcycleroads.com/routes/RockyMtn/ID/ID_12.shtml

this was shot from the car and basically shows the gist of it.  many miles of road, river, moutains and beauty
lewiston to missoula july 2011_1780

near the end you hit the summit at lolo pass a great stopping point to get out and stretch and you may even see snow in July!!!!

at this point you head down the mountain and the water starts going the same direction you do.  almost to missoula!!!

yuck

islands in the stream

Today's challen is a song I use to love but now hate.

this took me forever to think of but finally came up with one.  I generally don't hate much of anything.

clues include:

look closely at the photo something in it is the main part of the song

this is a picture of a river or stream

the song is by 2 people that normally sing solo

its an older song came out the year I graduated 1983

probably considered a country song then .

the song is islands in the stream by dolly parton and kenny rogers.

duncan visits riverside

took a break from the yard to take the dog for  walk at riverside state park's bowl and pitcher area.

My last westie storm loved the water.  Duncan on the other hand had to be coaxed to get this close to the water.  he was none to happy to be there.

but he looked so cute sitting out on the rocks.  he was one tired pup by the end of our 3 mile walk.  so of course we all needed a treat and went for ice cream.

126/365 may 6, 2009

I love where I live and work. Every day I walk the mail down to city hall and I pass the river and dam that runs through our downtown area. There is a little spot behind city hall where you can walk down to the dam. I don't have time for that walk during work but have done it several times and never get over the power of the water flowing over the dam, especially in the spring time.

91/365 april 1

April fools day. A cold and dreary day especially after coming back from the warmth of Vegas. The spring run off is starting to pick up. Mother nature played a little joke on us. She let it snow. Ok now enough is enough time for some real spring weather

specks of snow on me as it was just beginning to snow.
