rose bud

i don't know why but I always love rose buds probably more than a regular rose itself.  Something about the crispness of the small compact bud that soon will be bursting at its seems.

last rose

well almost took this about a month ago the weather has turned and leaves are falling.  no longer do we smell the roses and scents of sweetness.  In its place are crisp days and darker skys.  the sunlight falls sooner and darkness lasts longer.  no more do we have toes exposed just barely our noses.  makes me sad but glad to see the colors of fall.

Memories

MEMORIEES

a little while ago it was professional admin day or something politically correctly named like that.  for us old timers it is secretary day.  Several of us received roses from one of the guys in teh office and they were just to pretty not to take a picture of.  All I had was my phone camera so took a quick shot and then I processed it at home with some new textures I won from bonnie at the original art studio.  LOVE these new textures they turned in a poorly lit picture into a beutiful looking painting.

pay it forward november

my friend over at what eyes see daily has a friend that has a blog called have stroller will travel who is doing a pay it forward for the month of November.  So I thought I would try to play along.  It fit perfectly for tonight since I picked up some prints and frames to donate to the silent auction at work.  all the proceeds will go for the toys for tots.

I am a bit nervous about the whole thing as I have never asked for money or really shown off my photos like this. Gish I don't even know yet if they will be good enough to go in the auction.  I picked three prints a rose, a cone flower and an eagle all shown below   wish me luck or at least that I wont embarrass myself.

now to keep the pay it forward going thanks for the idea gals.

hope you can find it in your heart to pay it forward as well

a rose is a rose

we were in Boise, Idaho recently and at one of the gardens outside the zoo there were roses.  Roses in October??

I guess it stays a bit warmer so the roses last a little longer here.

but soon they too will be gone.  sigh
