victory garden

victory garden

We planted our first small vegetable garden this weekend after almost 23 years of marriage we decided that it would be a fun project.  we decided on a container grown one and put it on the new patio we put in the lower part of the yard last year.  We planted snap peas, string beans, cantaloupe, zucchini and marigolds to help keep the bugs out of the garden.

added some Kim Klassen textures and a shadowhouse mask see more fun with textures at kim's texture tuesday.

  6. I always have a garden...except this year since we are moving soon! I intend to grow some late summer and fall things when we get settled again:) Your garden looks great. The zucchini can easily overtake your garden as it grows as good as a weed:)

  7. Congrats on the garden. Hope you get some delicious goodies from it. We planted some bell peppers, crenshaw, cilanto, chives and cherry tomatoes. Now all we have to do is water and keep away the squirrels! Enjoyed your photo.

  10. That's the kind of garden I would like! As it is, my husband has 5 tomato plants in big containers; that's the extent of our garden. Your image is beautifully edited.

  11. Nicely done, we keep talking about growing some vegetables but haven't got around to it yet. We have a lot of deer where we live so it could be quite the challenge.

  14. How fun! I considered a container garden, but given we had snow at my house over the weekend, I'm thinking there won't be a long enough growing season for me to give it a go this year.

  15. I love the garden! We have one too, but we've had nothing but thunderstorms non-stop. It's ruining it.... I'm so jealous of yours! (and the photo is fabulous!)

  17. Your editing on this photo works wonderfully. I keep thinking I should do something like this with my daughter, but keeping things alive in the summer heat of Texas might prove tough!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today and for your lovely comments.
