Merry Christmas

it was late Christmas eve and I was ready to hit the sack because I was full and tired and I realized I had not taken a picture of the tree.  eeks.  so here it is not the best shot but oh well.  I do a woodland creature theme.  lots of birds and animals through out the tree

I hope you all have a merry merry Christmas and enjoy family and friends today and always for the Christmas spirit is carried in the heart all year round.

10 turning over a new leaf

I decided to rename my blog to a more appropriate name. The weekend photo warrior. Since I mostly take pictures during the weekend, due to that pesky thing called work. And since I can mostly update my blog during the weekend I thought it would be better.

The above picture was taken through a sculpture of a maple leaf flag. Not happy with it but I think that is because the weather is so blah. Just another beautiful cloudy winter day in Spokane.

361/365 more bokeh

I think I have played with this star before but oh well. it made a good subject. the house is still full of sick people and a sick dog. so no visiting the eagles today more play time. I actually took these last last night but playing with them today on the computer. I think I like the above better then the below version. what about you?

below are my failed attempts to do the fake bokeh with a star cut out of black paper and put on the front of the camera. I just am not getting it to work though and not sure why. maybe my lens aperture doesn't go down low enough.

342/365

well I took about a dozen pictures of this little bird on my tree. I love birds and animals on my tree and have lots of them there. this was the best shot but still a little disappointed with the reflection on his wing. going to have to try again may reposition him some where else on the tree. maybe next time I can get the whole bow in on the shot too.

any other suggestions???

The tree is up and decorated. Practiced a little with the lighting should have used a tripod but was to lazy to go find it. next time.

I did notice that photographing it this way I found where I put to many lights on the tree. Can you tell I am short from this photo???

338/365

Today was our day off so we headed to the festival of trees at the Davenport hotel. the hotel is a very old and very elegant hotel. It was all decorated up for the season with the grand hotel in the middle of the downstairs floor.
there are 12 themed trees that you can buy raffle tickets to win the tree and all the themed gifts that go with it. This tree was my husbands favorite the Money tree.

The drawing is next week hopefully we win. Even if we don't the money earned goes to charity so that is a win in itself.

ps: saw this post on scott kelby's blog and wanted to pass on what will your 2010 project post be??
