bear with me

DSC_0165_3233l

I can say one of the most amazing things we saw are the bears.  I have NEVER been this close to a bear before.  probably 6 feet away.  yes we were in a car and not allowed out and there was what looked to be a short electric fence but none the less these bears were so close wow.   the size of their paws were amaing.  a beast not to be taken likely and make sure you read my disclaimer on the first post of this series.

deer in the headlights look

DSC_0184_3252a

ever wonder where that saying came from?  well I think this guy knows. hahaha

this was taken at the olympic game farm that I talked about yesterday.  what a great place I tell you if you ever get a chance to go to Sequim, washington this is a must stop among several others that I will tell you about but if you only have a couple hours there stop here.

this is the same photo as above before a bit of level change.  I forgot I was in the car and had the camera on auto and the flash popped up.

room for me???

DSC_0181_3249

this was my favorite photo even though it is not the best from our entire weekend to the coast.  there is a place called the olympic game farm that is 84 acres of mostly open range for many animals.  you can pay to drive through the park and see all kinds of animals some up close and personal like above.

this bison was huge and we had bread to feed it (purchased for an extra 2.00 and the best 2 bucks I have ever spent)   my husband had already given this guy a couple of pieces and the car ahead of us had moved up so we did too.  I was busy feeding one on my side when boom this guy bumps his nose back through the window on my husbands side.  at one point he had his whole head in the car at which I didn't get a shot because i was laughing so hard.  of course hubby is trying to shoo this 2000 + pound animal out of the car so he could roll up the window.  saying no no no no and pushing on his nose.  he did finally leave at the urging of another piece of bread but not before we both were laughing so hard we had tears running down our eyes.

I have some more pictures of the park and our great weekend trip to share later but this just had to be my first post because of the memory.

DISCLAIMER:  do not attempt this with wild animals these are still wild animals but because of their upbringing have been exposed to humans and gentler but a wild animal is always a wild animal and can turn on you at any time so be respectful of that ALWAYS.
