This is one of my favorite toys. I swore I would never do text messaging but this past December I made the jump and went for the whole tomato. And all I can say is I LOVE IT. I can see why President Obama didn't want to give up his. Being able to stay in touch with my friends near and far and my son even more so, not to mention that I can get my email and facebook on it.

Well fellow 365 bloggers we made it a month. If we can do this 11 more months will be nothing. well we will see.
well two computer shots in a row but well to bad. I sad at the computer most of the day today doing taxes and all the other paperwork that needed to be done today. I am so not going to be doing that tomorrow.

The sun came out today so hubby and I headed out for a drive. It was still really cold but the sun beating through the windows as glorious. I had a hard time deciding on which picture to use so I narrowed it down to two. What do you think?

We saw several deer along the way. they were coming down to get food. At one point there were 4 deer that stopped at the roads edged looked and saw a few cars turned and ran the other way.

We really liked this shot of the snow dusted pine trees through the car window as we drove.

here I am where I sit many hours on my computer.

My image for today was taken for many reasons. One the sun came out enough to melt some of the snow off my solar lights. Two there was enough sun to power it which really makes me excited.

I was in the rocking chair today chatting with my husband and he was laughing at me for balancing the camera on my legs to take this shot.

I had a really hard time picking an image today I took several of the dam and this ice and finally decided on this one because it showed both. the water was really flowing something we don't see normally in January. Because of the amount of water coming up and the temperature of the air it creates this mist that comes up over the bridge that froze immediately into a 1/2 inch layer of ice on the railing and part of the walkway. It is pretty cool though.

can you find me?? I know my peachie friends will just LOVE this one. Drinking the number one drink of course so have to show it off.

BONUS SHOT

This is the opposite side of the dam looking at the bridge where I took the first shot at. that white stuff jsut below the bridge is solid ice on the rocks.

I was up really early this morning because my dear sweet puppy was up at 3 and was sick. nothing like a dog barfing to wake you up from a dead sleep. so after all that he decides to take a nap. well and he is so dang cute you can't get mad at him.

he is a good snuggler at the end of a day as well.

Monday I went and played bar stool bingo at the local Eagles lodge. Was probably the youngest person in there and I am by far not young. I drank Pepsi and popcorn while everyone else was drinking beer and getting toasted. OK so I don't make it a habit to hang at the local old folk bar but mom works there and it was fun. Didn't win any cash but gave mom some company and got a few laughs. I will do it again I think.

had a bit of downtime so I tackled a little more in eclipse the 3rd book in the series of Twilight series. I have book 4 and final book in the series Breaking Dawn just begging to be opened up. I loved book 1 (Twilight) and 2 (New Moon) but this 3rd book is not as appealing to me.

There I am in my flash washed out face. Went shopping for a new coat today and this is what I ended up with. the color is more purple but that darn little fuji finepic is not very good in flash mode. I really not as happy as I thought I would be with that camera.

24/365

Took a very short walk in the park today with Dave. It was very cold so we cut it short. Plus it was so slick out the snow is like walking on solid ice. this leave was really cool it was a couple inches down in the snow perfectly there in its own little tunnel

almost forgot to take my picture of the day so as I was picking my mom up from work really late the other day I snapped this one. thought it was a bit funny.

My dog Duncan. You might see him a lot throughout the year I adore taking shots of him. He is a 3 1/2 year old west highland terrier and full of personality. So for today's shot after brushing him out I decided he needed to be in sepia tones so I photo shopped the colored

After a long day, and so far a really long week, I came home and napped on the couch for a few minutes. I really don't like the little fuji fine pic that we have don't ever get that brand of point and shoot but I was to lazy to get out my camera.

Premier of LOST tonight. I wasn't happy with last years episodes but sucked into the premier. If its good maybe I will keep watching it if not, well maybe not.

I saw a friend of a friends flicker and she had some really cool shots on her 365 (done in a previous year). I liked her self portraits that were very different so going to try to do some of those. well this one isn't very different but at least it might keep me from getting bored with the 365 face shots.

Today on Inauguration day of our 44Th president and the first African American President of the united state I happen to be walking through our city hall gallery and found this piece of art. Sadly I forgot to write down the artist name but it really called to me for several reasons. The obvious reason is how proud President Lincoln would be today. The not so obvious reason is because of the cupcake and how it reminded me of my friend Lenore.

It reads Most Folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be. Abe Lincoln

I think this is one of the best sentences anyone can remember. We need to teach our children this and remind ourselves of it all the time.

I looked so horrid today after work, I might say a LONG day at work that I decided that I would play with photo shop a bit and came up with this. freaky huh?? lol

this is where I spent my weekend scrap booking. It was a really cool 3 story retreat house normally for the rainbow girls. Only about 45 minutes from home but so quiet and peaceful we had a blast.

Of course what girl weekend away would be complete without some margaritas?? not the best picture from a cell phone but oh well.

I have wanted this for a while. Last year I even tried to talk my son into it thinking for sure an 18 year old would like to have it. NOPE. well here it is after Christmas and decided I needed to have it. partly because of the guilt of going away this weekend on a scrap booking retreat and partly because I have an obsessive, compulsive and addictive nature. Took some searching and a couple of weeks but picked it up and LOVE it. Also bought the WII fit with it and that is an amazing game. Who would have thought how far technology could have come from the pong and space invader games I use to play. We had so much fun with it tonight I am pooped.

Time to sit back and have some computer time now. listening to my ABBA on the Ipod and posting blogs and chatting with friends.

Thought this would be a different self portrait today me in the bathroom mirror.

Looks like a mess right? well it pretty much stays that way no matter how hard I try not to keep it that way. that's my stamp area in the basement/family room. I have a little desk in the back there but well it just doesn't seem to stay cleared and when I stamp I drag everything out. Anyhow I did some stamping and some gathering of stuff for a 3 day scrap booking retreat next weekend.

There I am again. I actually like this one for some weird reason. maybe I am getting use to these self portraits. NOT.

10/365

All the hustle and bustle is done, the presents are unwrapped and put away, Santa is headed for his vacation some place warm no doubt and its time for the decorations away. It always makes me kinda sad to take it all down. Not sure why, maybe the fact that its over, maybe the fact that you work so hard and get so much done for a month or so and its all over in an instant, but it does make me sad. Even sadder when I have to do it alone. hubby was away at guard duty and son was with his friends then work so that left just me. Normally I do this the weekend of new years but this year the shed was buried in snow so I had to wait for some melting to occur to get to the tree box.

And a frustrated me. I really really really hate phone trees. not much for a talk on the phone kind of gal but phone trees that go on forever grrrrrrrr

9/365

SUN, GLORIOUS SUN!!!!!

yes it made a grand appearance on Friday the 9Th of January. Thank goodness and with it lots of melting. while our rivers are doing pretty good others are not around the state. But the Spokane River was flowing great today. This picture is from our downtown park area. Something I walk past every work day to go deliver the mail to the mail center. I consider myself very lucky to live here. We have a huge beautiful park in our downtown area. Many of the building are leftover from Expo 75.

It was a rather cold day though, I was wishing I had my earmuffs

Today's picture is my lunch. AHHH taco bell. with all the snow I haven't driven to work for about 3 weeks so I couldn't get my run to the border fix. Today the temperatures were up the snow was starting to melt YAHOOO. I had to go get my car an emissions test which took forever and the guy in front of me was annoying the heck out of me. Mr very old man with an obvious comb over and his mirror sunglasses in his cameo. First he gets stuck in an ice rut and wants me to back up AHH hello no where to go rock that car. Finally does that and what do you know we end up pulling out with him in front of me and he wants to go left on a busy street. So after all that it was even more reason to run to the border.

Today's picture waiting in line at the car emissions. look a little bit of sunshine.
